Christmas in the Park guide

Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is Christchurch's big free Christmas concert in North Hagley Park, with live music, food trucks and fireworks at the end. In 2026 it is on Saturday 28 November, and the park is about a 15-minute walk from our motel.

See the Christmas in the Park website for the line-up and a map of the site.

What to bring

  • A rug, or low chairs. Low camping or beach chairs are fine, so the people behind you can see.
  • A picnic, if you like. You can bring alcohol to the Christchurch show.
  • Leave marquees and trestle tables at home, as they are not allowed in the park.
  • Leave your dog at home. The crowds, loud music and fireworks are a lot for a dog. Certified assistance dogs are welcome.

Walking there from the motel

There is no public parking in Hagley Park, so walking is the easy way. Leave your car in our free car park, one space per room, and walk about 15 minutes: west along Salisbury Street to Park Terrace, then over the John Burn Bridge into the park.
