Why stay here for an arena show
- 11 minutes by car. The arena is about 6 km from our motel.
- Free parking. Your car has its own space at the motel, one per room.
- Dinner first. Cafés and restaurants are a short walk from the motel. See places to eat.
- A quiet night after. Our rooms are double glazed with blackout curtains.
- Book direct. Find it cheaper online and we beat it by 10%. And choose one: free early check-in from 1pm or free late check-out at 11am.
Getting to the arena
- By car: about 11 minutes. The arena has a large free car park with more than 3,000 spaces, first come, first served. Arrive early, and expect a wait to drive out after a big show, as only a few roads lead out.
- Taxi or rideshare: drop-off is outside the main front doors. At big events it may move to the side of the arena, and car park staff show the way.
- Bus: Metro buses stop nearby on Lincoln Road and Whiteleigh Avenue. See Metro for routes and times.
- On foot: about an hour (4.8 km), so most people drive.

Before the show
These are the arena's rules on the Venues Ōtautahi website when we checked in November 2026. Rules can change for each show, so check your ticket email too.
- Arrive early: door times change with each show. The arena asks you to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start, as there are bag checks at the door.
- Bags: bring a small bag only, as bags are searched. At some shows the limit is 30 cm by 30 cm and drink bottles are not allowed, but water is free inside. Leave large bags, takeaway food, umbrellas and professional cameras at home. Homemade food like sandwiches is fine.
- Food and drinks: local food stalls on the concourse sell BBQ, burgers, Korean chicken and hot dogs. There is also a bar and a tuck shop.
- Seats: each event has its own seat map on its ticket page. Wheelchair spaces with companion seats are in several sections. For accessible tickets, call Ticketmaster on 09 970 9711.
- No cash: the arena takes cards and phone payments only.
- ID: bring photo ID if you want to buy alcohol.
- Accessibility: the arena is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking near the building for mobility pass holders.
