Riverside Market: every day

The indoor market on the corner of Lichfield Street and Oxford Terrace, with fresh food, eateries, bars and small shops. Open from 7.30am every day, until 8pm from Sunday to Wednesday and until 9pm from Thursday to Saturday. A farmers market is held outside, beside the river, on the last Sunday of every month.

Riccarton Market: Sundays

• When: every Sunday from 9am to 2pm, rain or shine. Closed on Easter Sunday, open on Easter Monday instead.
• Where: Riccarton Racecourse, 165 Racecourse Road.
• What: over 200 stalls, with produce, second-hand goods, furniture, clothes, art, plants and food.
• Entry and parking: free.

Christchurch Farmers' Market: Saturdays

• When: Saturday mornings from 9am.
• Where: the grounds of Riccarton House & Bush, 16 Kahu Road, beside the Avon River.
• What: over 60 stalls of local food. It has run since 2004.

Lyttelton Farmers' Market: Saturdays

A weekly market on Saturday mornings in Lyttelton, the harbour town over the Port Hills. About 20 minutes by car from our motel.

New Brighton Seaside Market: Saturdays

A Saturday market in New Brighton, by the beach. It is about 14 minutes by car from our motel, and the pier and the He Puna Taimoana hot pools are close by.
